ABOUT THE SCHOOL

The Campion School has three main aims:

  • to develop in its pupils inquiring minds through the study of a broad range of subjects and through the encouragement of self-discipline and hard work in the pursuit of excellence;
  • to encourage young people to fully develop themselves intellectually, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually through academic study and through participation in extra curricular activities;
  • to lead young people to faith in Christ and to mature understanding of the Catholic Faith.

AN EXTRACT FROM CAMPION'S BRAG

The School motto is "Auctore Deo", which means "the Enterprise is of God", and is taken from an extract of the booklet written by Campion called "The Brag". It reminds us that all that we do is with God and for God:

"The expense is reckoned, the enterprise is begun; it is of God, it cannot be withstood. So the faith was planted: so it must be restored."

RULES

1.

Pupils should be courteous at all times, show respect, consideration and good manners in their dealings with staff, other pupils and visitors to the school.
2. All pupils should contribute positively in lessons, and never prevent others from learning.
3. The school buildings, furniture and grounds are an essential part of our community.
We must all take particular care in maintaining them. Any damage to school property or loss of personal possessions should be reported promptly.
4. The school buildings and grounds should be a litter free environment.  All food and drink should be consumed in the hall.
5. Only staff, visitors and members of the sixth form are allowed to use the front entrance.
6. Pupils may only enter the school grounds through the main entrance in Wingletye Lane or the back gate on the Arterial Road.
7. No pupils should be in the school playground before 8.55 am, when the coaches enter the school.
8. No pupils should be in the school buildings before school (8.55 am), break time, or lunch time unless they are involved in extracurricular activities or are being supervised by members of staff.
9. No pupils should go to the staff room at morning break or between 1.00 and 1.40 pm at lunchtime.
10. Large amounts of money and valuable items, including walkmans should not be brought into school.
