HAZELMERE JUNIOR SCHOOL
Here at Hazelmere we are committed to providing the best possible ICT grounding for our pupils. As a result we have invested heavily in the hardware necessary to achieve this. We have a dedicated computer suite of 20 machines, complete with flat screen monitors, interactive whiteboard and server. The server contains numerous software titles for every single ICT unit from years 3 through to 6. Furthermore, all 8 of our classrooms enjoy interactive whiteboards, and plans are afoot to add a whiteboard and projector to the school hall for assemblies and other special events.
Hazelmere is about to join the efolio virtual learning environment. By September 2008 all children in England must have access to a personal internet page - or 'learning environment'. This is a private site in which the pupil can complete class work, communicate with staff and other pupils, and into which teachers can place work, resources or internet links. Hazelmere will be up and running a year before this deadline is reached - one of the first primary schools in the area to join the scheme.
Watch this space for further exciting developments in computing technology at the school.
