Hereward Homepage

The number of pupils attending Hereward Primary School is approximately 260.

The school came into existence as a result of the amalgamation of the Infant and Junior Schools in April 1981. The schools consists of Infant and Junior children with a separate Nursery for part time local children and children aged between three to five with special needs.  We also have a playgroup, run by qualified PPA staff.

It is a two storey building with twelve classrooms, a large assembly hall equipped for physical education, a separate dining area and a kitchen.

1. We believe that all children deserve the right to experience success in their education.

2. We believe that the best teaching produces the best learning for all.

3. We believe that every child has the right to learn without disruption.

4. We believe that every member of the school and its local community has a potentially valuable role in the school's development.

The school has superb sporting facilities including a cricket pitch, football field, athletics tracks, and netball courts as well as a large school hall.

The school has a very successful sporting history, having been involved in Netball, Football, Cricket, athletics, triathlon, Cross-Country Running and Rugby competitions.

The school currently runs a Football Club for years 3 to 6, after school on a Tuesday, Netball for years 3 to 6 Tuesday after school, Rugby Club for years 5 and 6 Monday lunch time and Dance club for years 1 and 2 on a Wednesday after school.  Cricket Club runs from Easter on till the end of Summer term  for years 5 and 6.

The school also is involved with Tottenham Football Club who provide training available for years 3 and 4 on a Monday after school.  We also host the Funksters Dance Group, run by Epping Forest Arts, which can be joined by anyone from years 3 to 6.  Click here for more information on after school activities that Hereward offer.

Hereward Primary School fully understands the fantastic teaching and learning opportunities made available through media technology. This is why every classroom in Hereward is fitted with at least one online PC to compliment the twenty PCs in the ICT suite.

The school has a recently refurbished library where every effort has been made to create a fun and informative area for children to choose and read books.

The Library has also been stocked with a wide range of fiction and non fiction books for younger readers.  Click here for more information on reading!
