Newbury Park Primary offers places for 810 pupils aged 4-11. In addition we offer 60 part time nursery places for children aged 3-4. In 2004 the L B of Redbridge increased the size of our intake to 4 forms of entry, By 2010 the school will have 900 pupils.
Our most recent OFSTED inspection praised us for "Newbury Park is a good school where pupils are inspired and motivated to learn." (July 2004)
We aim to provide an exciting and stimulating place for children to learn and succeed.
Last year we gained an international recognition for our Language of the Month project in winning the National Centre for Languages European Award 2005 and the Community Languages Prize. The project has now been publish and is used in schools across the country.
We also achieved recognition for the wide range of additional activities provided for pupils by gaining the Quality in Study Support Mark.
In addition we also gained a quality mark for the excellence and range of sporting and other physical activities that we other to children.
The school is pleased to have Advance Skills Teachers who provide support and training to schools throughout Redbridge in mathematics, Religious Education and behaviour for learning. We also have two leading teachers (maths & ICT) who give demonstration lessons to visiting teachers from local schools.
The school plays an active role in training new teachers. We have many years experience running the Graduate Teacher Programme, as well as working with Uni. of East London, and providing placements for B Ed. students. We also host placements for Fast Track teachers.
Our close links with Oaks Park High School provide many benefits, including membership of their specialist school status consortium for music and mathematics. We are also members of the Caterham High School Consortium for School Sports.
We are committed to ensuring that all pupils receive the best possible education. A strong emphasis is placed upon the acquisition of the core skills - reading, writing and number, as well as learning to listen and speak with confidence. Many of our pupils have English as an additional language. In consequence, respect for language and the effective use of English is a core focus for the school.
Teachers recognise that within any class there exists between pupils a wide variation in ability across the range of individual tasks. Teaching staff endeavour to match the difficulty of any task as closely as possible to the ability of each individual pupil. This is achieved by the teacher having different expectations in regard to the pace at which children progress with tasks or the quality of the eventual outcome. Likewise, the teacher may seek to provide some pupils with additional activities to extend their learning or provide a different task more closely matched to their level of ability.
In the Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception Infants) the curriculum is organised around a series of themes.
For pupils in Key Stages 1 & 2 the curriculum is planned according to schemes of work devised from the subjects of the National Curriculum, the syllabus for Religious Education and Personal and Social Education. Teachers will make links between subjects when they occur naturally and provide real educational value.
During this year we are introducing the teaching of French to some classes. This is a pilot project in preparation for the introduction of french for all Key Stage 2 classes in 2010.
Children in Key Stage 2 also recieve a programme of Gobal Studies exploring themes of citizenship, human rights, diversity, sustainable development, conflict resolution & social justice.

We aim to offer a broad range of activities appropriate to the age group. These will include a wide variety of play and creative activities, arts and crafts, sports and games as well as an opportunity for children to complete homework with supervision and support.
Payment of fees is weekly, to be paid at the beginning of each week. Places in the scheme are booked for a period of a half term. If a child leaves the scheme, or the number of days are reduced, payment will be required to the end of the commitment period unless another family can fill the place.
