bullet The school provides education for children between the ages of 4 and 11 years.
bullet With a recently built classroom wing,  the school now has 9 classrooms, a large assembly hall, music and dance studio,  ICT suite, library, and various work spaces.

"This is an outstanding school.  Pupils are very happy in school as a result of excellent support and relationships. Pupils’ achievement is outstanding.  In the Foundation Stage, children make good progress because the activities are well planned to meet their needs.  By Year 2 and Year 6, pupils reach exceptionally high standards in English, mathematics and science.  Their outstanding progress is due to the school’s very positive ethos, consistently good teaching and very close monitoring of their progress.    (Ofsted Report, October 2006)

All parents are automatically members of the Friends of the School.  The organisation plans a whole range of enjoyable events which provide a meeting point for the school community and raise much appreciated funds.
The committee of the Friends of Thaxted School work extremely hard in planning and organising a number of very successful events each year.  Last year monies raised went towards the furnishing of the classrooms with new tables, chairs, etc.  Events in  the Autumn  term by  the "Friends of Thaxted School" included a Pampered Chef evening and a lively Race Night.
