Warren School

Welcome to warren.bardaglea.org.uk

www.warren.bardaglea.org.uk provides some unique facilities and has become an important and useful part of the school for pupils, parents and staff alike. The site has been developed as part of the ICT Testbed initiative and will continue to grow now that the Testbed intiative has run it's course. We now have in place a team who can support the website so expect good things to come.

ADULT EDUCATION

Welcome to Warren Comprehensive School. We are a mixed, non-denominational Secondary School for some 1350 students with first rate modern buildings, facilities and specialist departments. An ongoing capital investment programme ensures that our School will continue to grow as a unique centre of excellence in our Borough, providing the opportunities our students and the local community deserve.

Above all, we are a non-selective and inclusive School, welcoming students of all abilities and mindful of the modern world into which they emerge. Out positive and dedicated staff team works in partnership with parents, governors and students to ensure that all students have the very best chances to fulfil their individual potential.

As a forward thinking School, committed to raising standards and embracing new initiatives, we have found ourselves at the national forefront of teaching developments and applied technology. In October 2002 we were selected, as one of only 5 secondary schools nationally, to be part of the TestBed project. This is a government-funded initiative that is exploring how state of the art ICT affects performance. Since then we have invested £2.5 million in ICT equipment so that every classroom has whole-class interactive computer facilities, we have 9 classrooms with 17 networked computers in each and over 100 laptops so that learning can take place anywhere in school.

In keeping with the school’s philosophy we wish to engage parents and the wider community in developing their knowledge and skills, both in ICT and other subjects. From September 2004 we are offering a range of courses in association with the Adult Education College. To ensure we are meeting your needs we have carried out surveys to discover what courses you most desire. Whether it be understanding more about your child’s schoolwork, developing your own skills at a basic or advanced level or recreational courses you require I am confident you will find them there. I look forward to seeing you in school next academic year.

Ann Brookes
Headteacher.
