A Year 7 Student says...
"I really like the new subjects I'm studying, especially Technology. The grounds are really beautiful and I love watching the squirrels running up the trees. I've made lots of friends even though I was worried about this before I came, and I am involved in lots of activities. I especially liked being in my House Play which meant that I got to know girls in other years as well as my own." |
Sixth Formers say...
"I wanted to come to Woodford because I saw it as a school in which everyone can achieve their potential."
"I wanted to stay on at Woodford because of the diversity of talents, personalities, skills and cultures of its students and because of the freedom and the opportunities to grow and mature that the school offers them."
"I chose Woodford because the atmosphere was right for me; people were friendly and subjects well-taught."
"At Woodford there is a friendly atmosphere in which everyone is encouraged to explore new interests while studying hard to achieve their academic goals." |

New Year 7 girls spend a day with us in the Summer Term. On this occasion they meet their Form Tutor and other members of their Form. Girls remain in these groupings until Year 11. This gives them stability and a sense of identity. The Form Tutor takes a keen interest in each girl and liaises with home and other staff.
In addition every girl is a member of one of the School's four Houses which include girls from Years 7 to 13. This helps to foster a sense of community. The House system provides opportunities for leadership and for girls to express their individual talents.
The Sixth Form (Years 12-13) accommodates 240 students. The majority of these are Woodford pupils, but each year there are a number of vacancies for students from other schools. An Open Evening for prospective Sixth Form students and their parents is held in the early part of the Spring Term.
