Ysgol Llandegfan

School education for young children has been available in Llandegfan for over a hundred and fifty years. We have in the village a building called Yr Hen Ysgol(the Old School) which dates back to 1832. It was then and still is a building with very close Church in Wales ties. This school soon became too small, and another school was built nearby and opened in 1890. This served the mainly rural community until 1972, when the present very unusually designed building was opened

It is situated on open land facing South South-East, with the panoramic views of the Eryri (Snowdonia) mountain range breathtakingly beautiful in the distance, across the famous Menai Straits.

There are some one hundred and fifty pupils, at the School. They are boys and girls aged between four and eleven and the vast majority live within two kilometres of the school. Others come from up to ten kilometres away
