Welcome To Aylesham Primary School

Our aim is to provide a happy, caring and quality learning environment for your child. We recognise that parents play an important part in their child’s education and we always welcome your views and feelings.

As a school we believe that children's self-esteem is the most important consideration in a child’s education. We help them believe in themselves and from this come high expectations and achievement.

We are a school that looks forward and not back. We see ourselves as an important part of Aylesham’s community and we ensure that as a school we embrace change and evaluate our performance on a regular basis. We have shown a continual improvement in achievement in recent times and I am sure this trend will continue.

We have an ‘open door’ policy and I will always see parents immediately if possible or make an appointment to see them as soon as I am available.

I am sure that by choosing our school you will have made an informed decision and we will do everything possible to ensure that you are always pleased with the decision you have made.

This year sees exciting times with the opening of our Sunshine Corner Nursery a fantastic facility run in partnership with the Pre-School Learning Alliance.

I wish you and your child a happy and successful time with us.

At Aylesham Primary School, we believe that ‘children come first’. EVERY child should feel valued, included and secure. Their physical, emotional, social and cultural education is as important as the National Curriculum.

In order to achieve this we strive to provide an environment that recognises that children’s self esteem is paramount to their learning. To ensure children are motivated and achieve high standards, our curriculum is exciting, stimulating, broad and balanced.

We recognise parents as the children’s first teachers. Much learning takes place outside the school and the importance of a strong link between home and school is essential.

Our School

Is one of two schools in the village of Aylesham. We are proud of our mining heritage and see our school as part of Aylesham’s continuing development. We run our school with the belief that ‘Children come first’ and we hope our parents have the same view about us.

Special Educational Needs

Our school has an extensive Special Needs department with a Special Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) and large team of trained Teaching Assistants.  The SENCO holds regular meetings with teachers and parents to ensure that we are catering for the needs of all our children. If you have any concerns about your child’s learning or development then please feel free to see the SENCO.

UNIFORM

We very much believe that the wearing of uniform helps children develop a strong sense of belonging to the school. We want our children to be proud of their school and its uniform, and for this reason, we ask you to co-operate in ensuring that your child wears school uniform.
