Let’s be honest, we would like every parent to want to send their child to this school. Many parents do want their child to join this school which is why, like any popular school, we are always oversubscribed. However, don’t let the fact we are popular stop you applying. You have the right to apply to any school and we would urge you to base your decision on which school you think will best suit your child and your needs.

So why do we think you should choose Boughton? Our own biased view is that this is a wonderful school offering:

  • A genuinely friendly, caring village school committed to achieving high educational standards through stimulating and enjoyable teaching.

  • Fabulous, motivated and well behaved children and incredibly supportive parents.

  • A commitment to make this school the best school it can possibly be.

  • A dedicated, talented and hard working staff team who want every child to enjoy their experience at Boughton and succeed.

  • Beautiful grounds and setting with an exciting new build due next year.

EDUCATIONAL STANDARDS

At Boughton, we are committed to high educational standards. We are proud of how we set out to help all our children learn irregardless of how high or low their starting point. Yes our SATS results compare favourably with other schools but more importantly our value added figures show how successful we are at moving all our children on year after year. We value all our children and strive to ensure that whatever their ability we have the dedicated professionals in place to support and extend them at their appropriate level. We are also proud of the excellent work we do with our children beyond the academic. We offer a well rounded educational experience for which have been consistently praised over the years.

We are really proud of our school and how hard everyone connected to it is working to achieve our aim of being the best primary school we can be. Why not come and visit us to see for yourself?

We are committed to school improvement as recognised by Ofsted and the hard work the school is putting into ongoing improvement and not standing still and resting on our laurels!

We have put a great effort into successfully improving our Reception class environment and the curriculum standards. Ofsted recognised the schools efforts to improve provision and a recent LEA visit now officially acknowledges the progress we have made and continue to make. FOUNDATION STAGE

Recently there have been some quite striking changes to a schools approach to teaching reception aged children. Reception is part of what is now called the Foundation Stage, which actually covers children aged 3 - 5 years of age.

Childrens progress and achievement is assessed and recorded using the Foundation Stage Profile.

As a school we have worked incredibly hard to create the high quality of provision and environment that will allow our reception children to successfully access the Foundation Stage.

GOLDEN RULES

At Boughton we are very proud of how our children and adults behave and work positively together. We have worked with our children to create a clear set of rules that we all feel are fair and that we have agreed to follow. They help make clear to us all what is acceptable and unacceptable behaviour within our school community.

Care, Courtesy and Consideration makes our school safe and happy because:

  • We respect each other and our property
  • We listen to each other, work quietly and follow instructions
  • We move around our school sensibly
  • We try our best and allow others to work
  • We work together calmly to solve problems and move on
