Dame Janet Community Junior School is located in Ramsgate, Kent on the South-East coast of England. We are a large junior state school that offers education to both boys and girls between the ages of 7 to 11 years.

Our Mission Statement

Our aim is to provide opportunities for everyone to achieve their full potential, giving them a sense of happiness and self-worth, encouraging high standards of behaviour and respect for all.


Dame Janet Community Junior School is a large school and currently has 376 pupils on roll. The school is divided into 4 year groups with an average of 94 pupils. The Lower School consists of Years 3 and 4 and the Upper School consists of Years 5 and 6. Each year group is divided into 3 classes and overseen by a year leader.


Dame Janet Community Junior School fully implements the statutory National Curriculum. The core subjects of English and Mathematics are taught daily under the guidelines set by the Primary National Strategy. Science and ICT are taught weekly and are also utilised in other subject areas. The foundation subjects are an important part of the curriculum as well. Technology, Art, Music, Drama, Humanities (History and Geography), Religious Education, Foreign Modern Languages, PHSE and both Physical Education and Games are all found on the school timetable.


Dame Janet Community Junior School is very pleased to offer its pupils a range of extra-curricular activities. The school organises many trips and excursions which complement and enhance learning. The Annual Year 6 trip to the Isle of Wight provides pupils with a fun week of activities which proves to be very popular. There are many clubs run by the school including homework club, cookery club and various sport clubs. The school also has a popular breakfast club each morning. In recognition of the extra-curricular activities offered by the school we have been awarded 'Quality in Study Support' status.
