The College has good specialist facilities for many subjects including Art & Design, Dance, Design & Technology, ICT, Mathematics, P.E. and Science.
Regular Drama, Music and Dance productions take place in the multi-purpose Auditorium, and the College library and multi-media resources are in constant use.

| Dartford technology was first designated a specialist school in 1997 since when considerable expertise, particularly in ICT, has been developed. The community dimension of the College has led to a range of courses being offered to adults at our Specialist Training Centre. However, the most exciting element is the work that has been achieved with our Primary partners:-

- The Brent Primary School
- West Hill Primary School
- Westgate Primary School
- Wilmington Primary School
The transition benefits to DTC have been enormous and improved SATs results, especially in Maths and English, can be tracked to the close relationship which has developed. The College also works closely with Age Concern and The Ellenor Foundation to provide network support and laptop facilities. In partnership with Age Concern, the College has enabled the elderly clients to write down their memories and experiences with our Post 16 students.
Being a specialist school gives the College access to high quality training and expertise both nationally and internationally. DTC successfully submitted for four more years funding beginning in September 2003. The focus of the next four years, both within the College and the wider community, will be on Design & Technology, Maths and Science. Cross Curricular ICT is embedded in our curriculum and supports learning, and DTC will continue to be at the forefront of ICT developments. Design & Technology, Maths and Science will be a focus for our cross phase teacher. Teachers from each sector will get together to raise standards through work sampling, sharing of specialist facilities, and a new phase of cross phase work placements across DTC and its family of schools. It is intended that education is seen as a continuum, and the dips sometimes evident in Years 7 and 8 will be reduced.
As well as working with Primary schools, we have close relationships with a number of local Secondary schools. A partnership with the four other Dartford non-selective schools has led to the creation of the Darent 16+ Consortium to ensure all students have breadth and choice in their Post 16 education.
DTC is very proud of its specialist status and any parents wishing to discuss our plans or, indeed, read the submission would be most welcome.

The broad-based curriculum at the College provides a balanced educational experience for our students, fulfilling both the National Curriculum and Kent Curriculum Policy requirements.

At the end of Key Stage 3 students make choices about the subjects they wish to study through Key Stage 4 and to GCSE examination level. Every student follows courses in the core and compulsory subjects and may choose two additional subjects from the options list.

| The Dartford Sixth Form Centre is well established and offers a wide range of demanding courses. The AVCE and Advanced level courses are designed to help students gain the relevant qualifications, skills and confidence to either continue with education or seek employment.
Post 16 Education
The college is part of the Darent 16+ consortium that offers a wide range of 'A' Levels and Advanced and Intermediate level courses. These are supported by a core programme of recreational and social studies, work experience and ICT skills. There is a strong pastoral system with each student having a personal tutor to monitor progress and give advice.
Students leave the College for employment or higher education. The College has a special relationship with the Universities of Greenwich and Kent, assuring places for students who have gained the necessary entry qualifications.
