Godinton Primary School
Vision Statement
To raise standards by promoting high quality educational and cultural provision for all pupils, through a broad and balanced curriculum.
To enable all pupils to achieve their potential as independent learners and responsible, co-operative, valued members of our school and the community.
Godinton Primary school was built in 1978 to serve the Godinton Park estate. It has grown over the last 25+ years from the initial 30 pupils to approximately 420 in September 2004. The original school building is open-plan and caters for the younger age range, and also contains the library, hall, offices, medical room and kitchen servery.
The 1998 extension comprises two semi open-plan classrooms, with internal toilet facilities and cloakrooms, and three enclosed classrooms.
Another new addition was completed in December 2002. This comprises 5 classrooms, a staffroom, a computer suite, a boiler house and toilet facilities.
The school enjoys a beautiful site with two playgrounds and extensive fields, with woodland to the rear. An environmental area has been created near to the new extension.
As part of the re-development programme, extensive planting of shrubs and trees has taken place, making our surroundings a very pleasant area in which to work and learn, and encouraging a wide variety of wildlife to visit.
