General information about the school, dates, uniform etc, can be found if you scroll down on the 'Information' page.

At Hayes we aim to provide a happy and caring environment where children are valued for themselves and where their efforts and talents are appreciated and extended. We hope you enjoy your visit

We believe that children should enjoy their time at Primary School and we aim to provide a happy and caring environment where children are valued for themselves and where their efforts and talents are appreciated and extended. They need to develop an enquiring mind and an awareness of moral values encouraging self-respect, self-discipline and self-motivation.

Within the classroom we aim to ensure the mastery of basic skills which provide the foundation for learning and later to develop those skills to realise your child’s full potential. High academic and behavioural standards are set, with children expected to produce their best work at all times, being aware of what they are doing and why they are doing it.

The early school years see the development of permanent attitudes and values, and we consider that the school has an important part to play in spiritual, moral and social development. We foster courtesy and consideration for others, both in and out of school. Good behaviour and good manners are expected at all times.

We recognise that it is our duty to ensure that your child leaves this school with an academic level of attainment matched to his or her intellectual capacity. We hope they will have gained in confidence and have developed a positive attitude to school life.

The school provides a range of clubs and activities, which are held during lunchtime or after school. At present these include choir, orchestra, drama, gymnastics, netball, football, cricket, golf, cross country and hockey. Parents are welcome to assist staff with the clubs if they share the interest.

These clubs vary from year to year as they depend on the interests and availabilty of staff.  Most of the clubs are free and are run by staff in their own time. In order to extend the range of clubs, some outside agencies have been asked to run clubs in our school. A charge will be made for participation in these clubs.

When an activity takes place after school parents will be informed at least 24 hours in advance. Clubs are voluntary but pupils who join are expected to take on the responsibility of the club membership and attend on a regular basis.
