Welcome to our school, a school considered ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted. We aim to show you a glimpse into the world of Highsted through this prospectus and encourage you to come and talk to us, as no prospectus alone can ever do justice to the reality!

The achievements of our school illustrate not only the excellent education each pupil receives, but also highlight the personal standards and conduct of every individual within our school community.

The challenges we face daily do not end in the classroom but are extended in all that we do; encouraging us to grow as individuals and preparing us for life outside Highsted.

Each pupil enters Highsted as a child, full of enthusiasm and curiosity, and leaves as a creative, strong and independent young woman; having savoured every moment of her experience in the school.

Every girl who joins Highsted begins a magical journey of discovery where learning is fun and the prize is gold! In late medieval times, alchemy was the Holy Grail for philosophers and scientists alike – turning base metals to gold.

Here at Highsted, pupils follow that same trail – turning their own skills and talents, abilities and passions into the gold standard of achievement: top grades in public examinations, first prize in the Gold Crest Competition for engineering, Gold Awards in the Mathematics Challenge, but most of all, golden years of friendship and fun, laughter and learning. From little girls to energetic, confident and ambitious young women… this is the magic of Highsted.

As much learning goes on outside the classroom as in – skiing in the Alps, art tours to Paris, exchange visits to Germany, trips to Howletts, to the pantomime, to the University of Kent, concerts in the church, performances at Mount Ephraim any one year there are up to a hundred different activities for girls of all ages outside the classroom! The discovery of science, the magic of number, the mystery of music, the thrill of language, the secrets of the planet, the history of our people, all combine in a melting pot that is the adventure of learning the Highsted way.
