Laddingford Primary School
The school is a single storey Victorian building with later additions. It has been extensively modernised to provide a reception area, four classrooms, a well-stocked reference library area and resource room, a servery and modern cloakroom facilities. In addition there is a staff room and offices. There have been recent improvements including an Early Years Play area, and an environmental garden and adventure play area. A new purpose built Reception and Year 1 Classroom with its own cloakroom has just been completed and internal refurbishment has provided a larger library and small group area.
Immediately adjoining the school is the church and hall. This is used by the school for a variety of activities, including play space for Infants, assemblies, indoor PE and gymnastics, school productions and concerts, music lessons, craft fairs and presentations to parents. The relationship between the school and the church has always been close and is maintained in its present Voluntary-Controlled status.
The school is surrounded by its own attractively landscaped gardens and has a good sized playground with an additional marked out netball/basketball pitch and a small Early Years play area with a sand pit, Wendy House and a climbable wooden train. This is all well fenced and secure. Opposite the site is our large field, in use for most of the year for football, hockey, rounders, athletics, cricket and other sporting events, as well as for the summer fete.
We are proud to be a Sport England Activemark School (twice awarded), A Green Flag Eco School (three times awarded), An Artsmark Gold School and we have recently also achieved Healthy School Status
