There is a very wide range of clubs offered. At present, these include gardening, chess, science, homework, creative writing, recorders, choir, orchestra, football, netball and a French club.
MUSIC AND DRAMA
We are proud of the children’s musical skills, which were highly praised in our last Ofsted report. We have a thriving choir, active and skilled recorder groups and, unusually for a primary school, an orchestra. Instrumental lessons are available and a charge is made for these.
There are Christmas productions each year and an end of year production by Year 5 and Year 6 pupils.
Regular school trips, locally and further afield, enhance the curriculum. The risks associated with taking children off the school site are rigorously assessed and transport arrangements carefully considered.
All Year 5 and 6 pupils are offered the chance to go on residential trips each year. These develop team spirit and a firm bonding in the classes at the beginning of each school year. These trips allow talents, which are not necessarily demonstrated in the classroom, to shine through.
All children do P.E. at school. Competitive inter-school fixtures are a regular part of the lives of the football and netball teams.
The school enjoys sports day in the summer.
