Our Mission Statement

Temple Hill School, through the partnership of parents staff and governors, will work to provide a learning environment enabling all the children in its care to reach their full potential. This will be achieved through high quality teaching and learning processes.

We expect the best from every child and believe that each child has something individual to offer.

Through developing an open and enquiring attitude to the world around them, the school prepares its pupils for the opportunities, experiences and responsibilities of life and society.

ORGANISATION

Organisation of SchoolPrimary and Nursery is a large school with approximately 580 children on the roll.

The School has been open for 50 years this year and has served a large catchment area, taking in children from pre-school age (three years) up to eleven years old.

The School is organised into three main sections: Foundation Years (Nursery and Reception), Infant (5-7 year olds) and Junior (7-11 year olds).

Ms Francis is Deputy Head of the Infant Department (Early Years and Infants) and Mr Harding is Deputy Head of the Junior part of the school.

We are fortunate in having a spacious building comprising 22 classrooms, 2 halls, 2 libraries (Infant and Junior), an ICT suite, a Resources Room, offices and resources areas outside some classrooms.

The school benefits from a range of equipment and apparatus. All classrooms have at least one computer.

UNIFORM

Examples of our red jumpers
Examples of our red jumpers

All clothes must be labelled clearly with the name of the child. We actively encourage school uniform and would like to see every child dressed from the following list;

Grey skirt/trousers
White shirt/blouse
Scarlet/white t.shirt
Scarlet sweater
White/grey socks
Black/Brown sensible low heeled shoes
Summer: check red dress or other colour

NB Sweatshirts and polo shirts are kept in stock for ease of purchase
Also available from the school office are 'Temple Hill' caps and bags

A good standard of dress is expected and is regarded as part of social training for the children. Parents are asked to support the school by ensuring that their child wear school uniform.

Jeans and tracksuit bottoms are not considered suitable for school and should not, therefore, be worn.

The building has several staircases and flights of steps so, for safety reasons, sensible footwear is insisted upon. Girls should not wear shoes with raised heels or 'school' type sandals. Provision for indoor footwear in damp weather will be a great help towards keeping the building clean.
