The village of Lumphanan is situated 24 miles to the west of Aberdeen in the picturesque area of Deeside.  The school is situated at the end of a quiet road to the east of the village.

Most of our P.1 pupils attended Lumphanan playgroup or nurseries in Aboyne or Torphins.

Four classes exist within the school.  The staff who support the school comprise of Head Teacher, one Head Teacher Relief, two other full time teachers and two Probationer Teachers.   We also have a full time Classroom Assistant and School Administrator, a Playground Supervisor, Cook, Kitchen Assistant, Cleaner, three S.E.N. Auxiliaries and a Janitor.

Additional expertise involved in our school includes two mornings of a Support for Learners Teacher.   Five Visiting Specialists are time-tabled to attend our school during the year.
