Welcome to Mill O' Forest Primary School

Mill O' Forest Primary School is situated in the town of Stonehaven which lies fifteen miles south of Aberdeen. Originally a fishing community, many of the adults now work in local business whilst most travel into the city to work.

The school is open plan, has a nursery unit, a large gym hall, a G.P. room, a computer room, infant and senior libraries, a Braille room, a staff room and usual offices. The children also enjoy a tarmac playground with open playing fields.

MISSION STATEMENT

At Mill O' Forest everyone is considered an individual with the potential to be realised, strengths to be recognised and needs to be met. We endeavour to provide each of our pupils with an enjoyable, quality educational experience, which will prepare them to participate fully as adults in society.

CURRICULAR GROUPS

The children at Mill O' Forest benefit from many extra-curricular activities.
  • badminton
  • chess
  • cross-country
  • football
  • netball
  • recorder
We must thank parents and staff who give so readily of their time.

PUPIL COUNCIL

Mill O' Forest has had a Pupil Council for many years. There are two children representatives from each primary 4 - 7 class. The Council has its own constitution and meets once a month with Mrs Elaine Ingram and Mrs Joyce Swan. Two representatives of the council also meet once a month with the Head Teacher to discuss issues arising.

This is an important part of school life as it teaches the children from a young age the duties and responsibilities of citizenship in a democratic society by allowing them to be actively involved in decision making and allowing them to take responsibility for their school and the wider community. The children participate at a level suitable to their age and understanding.
