Dunecht School Aims
At Dunecht School, we aim to provide a happy, safe and secure environment for all our pupils. The working life of our school is reflected in our aims. These aims underpin our policies and procedures.
- Curriculum
Provide a stimulating environment where active participation in a broad and balanced curriculum encourages pupils to be independent learners.
- Attainment
Provide opportunities that will challenge and motivate each pupil to achieve their full potential.
- Learning and Teaching
Plan for individual needs, using effective teaching and assessment to guide next steps in learning and to encourage all staff to develop their skills.
- Equip our pupils with skills, attitudes and expectations necessary to prosper in a changing society and to encourage creativity and ambition.
- Support for Pupils
Support each child academically, socially, physically and emotionally and encourage positive attitudes through a sense of achievement.
- Ethos
Create a welcoming atmosphere which fosters pride, promotes equality and encourages parental involvement.
- Encourage citizenship programmes, through which our pupils will develop positive attitudes to their environment and to recognise the benefits of diversity.
- Resources
Make the best use of facilities, resources and expertise to maximise the quality of learning and teaching.
- Management, Leadership and Quality Assurance
Provide effective leadership by involving all members of the school community in identifying priorities, planning and implementing improvements and reviewing effective practice.
- Health and Safety
Provide as safe and healthy an environment as possible for all adults and children in the school.
These aims were reviewed during session 2004 – 2005 in consultation with staff, pupils and parents.
