New children in our Foundation Stage

                                                              

Year 1 are busy.

AIMS

School Aims
  • To provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment in which children and all adults, including parents, families, friends and governors are welcomed and valued as equal partners in education.
  • To enable each child to achieve his / her maximum potential by providing a variety of teaching approaches.
  • To provide a broad, rich, connected and relevant curriculum, in line with Foundation Curriculum and National Curriculum guidelines, where children take a pride in the presentation and quality of their work.
  • To give each child an awareness of the position of their school within the local community and churches.
  • To create a school ethos and environment which encourages children to make healthy life style choices.
  • To provide equality of opportunity regardless of race, gender or disability.
  • To prepare children for living in an interdependent and diverse society through fostering an appreciation and respect for different cultures.
  • To encourage children to become increasingly independent, but also to prepare them to become valuable members of society by encouraging good manners and mutual respect for each other and their environment.

CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES

Crunchies.

This Christian fellowship group meets after school on a Wednesday with Paul Fleming. If you enjoy sharing Bible stories playing games and having fun this is the club for you!

Recorders.

Do you enjoy listening to and making music? Are you in year 3 or 4? If so perhaps you might like to join one of our lunchtime recorder groups? Why not come along and see if you enjoy it?

Year 4 children meet with Mrs Dempster on Wednesdays. Year 3 children meet with Miss Turner on Thursdays. Year 4 also meet with Miss Symm on Fridays.

Sports Clubs.

Every few weeks a different sports club will be running in school for six week periods. Keep a look out for the club which is right for you!

Dancing.

Suzanne runs a dance group which meets after school on Monday evenings. Why not come along and learn some ballet or tap?

Funky Dance.

If you are in key stage 1 and like to dance why not meet with Miss Symm after school on Tuesdays to enjoy some fun !

After School and Breakfast Club.

An afternoon play and stay club and morning breakfast club meet every day in school. Please ring if you would like more details.

Knitting

Would you like to learn how to knit? Mrs Kirby and Miss Turner will help you. Why not come along on a Tuesday evening ?

Computer Club.

Each Monday evening Mrs Gibb runs a computer club. A different year group attends each half term. If you enjoy working on the computer this is the club for you !

Library Club.

Do you like reading and choosing books? Mrs Owen makes sure that our school library is open every Tuedsay evening. Come along and see our wonderful collection of books.

Mrs Gibb also runs a library club on Monday lunchtimes for year 4 chidren who love books and researching.
