Family Fun NightThe Family Fun Night was a great hit with everyone and raised around £200. Mr Pearce was a fantastic Quiz Master with his assistant Miss Gibbon and also Game Show host with assistant Jo Johnson as Dolly Dealer. All the teams did well and went to a tiebreaker on each Quiz. Thanks also to Anne Holdham for compiling the Quizzes and for the loan of the giant sized playing cards from the Three Elms. It's great to see that the events we hold are so well supported by both parents and teachers.
Thanks to everyone who helped set up and run the evening and made it the success it was.
Particular thanks to Sarah and Zio Pin for providing and serving the pizzas for the evening and also to Jo for face painting throughout the evening - there were some fantastic faces.
As we have our own machine now for Bingo, I'm sure we will try and organise more evenings in the future.
Easter Biscuits and CakesThank you to everyone who supported this event by sending in cakes and biscuits.
The children were delighted to see the variety offered, some decorated with eggs, chicks and bunnies.
It was great to see so many parents had supported this event and given the children money to spend.
Mother's DayHope all the mums enjoyed their mothers day presents this year.
There were lots of very pretty gifts and the children thoroughly enjoyed choosing. They ranged from pots of flowers, shower creams, packets of seeds, chocolates, gift boxes and more.
The price was kept low as this event was more about the children getting something nice for mum than a fundraiser. However the sale raised £40 for the school.
Thanks to the mums that came along to help and also to the teachers for their support.
In particular thanks to Miss Gibbon who decorated our Mother's Day trolley beautifully with paper lace and daffodils.
A Night at the Musicals - See below to find out how it went!
Around 55 guests joined us for a night at the musicals at Zio Pin Italian restaurant back in January. Everyone thouroughly enjoyed the food and entertainment with a huge array of songs from West End Musicals from Les Miserables through to the lastest production of 'Wicked'.
The evening raised £880 and special thanks go to Dominic and Sarah Bertelli and family for all the hard work that went into the evening at their restaurant. Also many thanks to Mrs Chatters, teachers and parents who helped out whether waitressing or bartending or helping in the kitchen. The evening was a great success and one we would like to repeat next year.
Six Nations Fundraiser 2007Thank you to everyone who took part in the Six Nations Rugby Fundraiser. It seemed that everyone really got into it and enjoyed the competition. Thanks in particular to Declan and Owen in 4L who between them returned nearly 150 entries.
The winner was Mr Robert Holdham, grampy to Cameron Calder 4L who collected the £50 prize.
Wet Play ActivitiesJan Price has recently put together boxes of games for the junior classes to use during wet play times. It has been a big task and taken a lot of organisation, but the children really appreciate having so many things to keep them occupied when the weather is bad. The boxes contain draughts, ludo, connect 4, dominoes, noughts and crosses, kerplunk and books with ideas for drawing activities to name but a few.
"There are so many games it would be impossible to play them all even if it rained all day."
"Everyone likes the games and they don't run around like they used to."
"I really like the games. My favourite game is the banana game."
"It took Jan three months to collect all the games but it was really worth it. Thanks Jan!" |
