ADMISSIONS

Children are usually admitted to school into the Infants Department (Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1) in September of the school year during which they become five.

Starting school for the first time is a very important step for the both the child and the parent/carer.  We feel it is important that you get to know us and the school.  For this reason we would always like you to visit our school before your child starts school.  Please contact school to make an appointment to meet Mr Perry (Headteacher) who will explain the school’s core values, aims and the way we operate on a day to day basis.  He will also give you an opportunity to tour the school during the school day.

For an appointment contact the school on…

Tel: 01625 582 213

Fax: 01625 586 788

Email: admin@alderleyedgecp.cheshire.sch.uk

We have a special form for parents to fill in when the child is going to start school at Alderley Edge.  This provides us with important information and emergency telephone numbers should the need arise.

In addition to looking around the school with the Headteacher, new Reception Parents are invited to an evening meeting during the Summer Term prior to children starting school.  We will also ask you to complete a child profile which helps us to gain additional information about your child.  Information is also sought from your child’s pre-school setting. Arrangements are made for your child to make pre-school visits to promote as smooth and trouble-free induction  as possible.

Cheshire County Council are now responsible for admission procedures.  Information can be gained from them by telephoning the Admission Team in Northwich.  Their telephone number is 01606 815 869.
