Welcome to Lyndhurst Community Primary School

About us

Lyndhurst was opened in 1972 as a replacement for the Moravian Juniors and Crescent Road Infants (known as the "Little Boardy").

The School was originally designed for 7 classes with an open-plan organization. In 1984 Crescent Road Secondary Boys School: which was situated just above us, closed and we acquired the "Little Boardy" as an annexe. This building now accommodates 5 upper junior classes (years 3-6) a library and resources rooms for audio-visual aids and computer studies.

We have built some strong links with the local community. In December we hold an annual Christmas Party for local Senior Citizens. Local clergy visit us frequently throughout the year to speak in Assemblies, at harvest Festival and Leavers' Services.

Because we are a popular school, a new classroom extension was built in 1998. This was financed by the Government's 'New Deal for Schools' initiative.
