Shavington Primary School is situated in rural Cheshire, 3 miles south of Crewe and Nantwich. Set in spacious grounds with over 100 trees, the school; has a large playing field, two playgrounds and other features such as a nature area and two ponds. The two playgrounds have various different seating areas, an all year barked area and many other special features.
Inside, the modern open-plan building is organised in three units which we refer to as Lower School (Reception, Years 1 and 2), Middle School (years 3 and 4) and Upper School (Years 5 and 6). There are two carpeted halls, 14 teaching bases, a library and two practical cookery areas. We also have two internal courtyards.
OUR PHILOSOPHY AND AIMS
The school culture of 'Learning Together' begins with the needs of the child and reaches out towards the family and future. We want Shavington Primary School to be a learning community where education is viewed enthusiastically and children want to learn. We want your child to enjoy school and have fun while they are learning.
We want our school to be a place where a child can be secure and happy whatever social pressures exist outside. The responsibility for creating that happy welcoming secure environment rests with those who work here supported by parents and families.
The children are welcomed into a warm comfortable environment in which the atmosphere and provision lead to effective learning
We Aim to:
|
Provide a broad, varied and well-balanced curriculum, which nurtures and develops the potential of each child. |
|
Fostering care and sensitive attitudes ensuring that each individual feels confident, secure, valued and respected by others. |
|
Create a stimulating environment, which encourages enthusiasm for learning and promotes an expectation of high standards |
|
Develop a successful partnership between home, school and the wider community. | .
Clubs and Extra Curricular Activities
Next term we will again be running a programme of clubs. These clubs will always start the second full week of each term and finish in the penultimate week of the term. If a club is not on a particular week you will be informed the week before. Teachers will let children know the time of lunchtime clubs. All after school clubs will run from 3.25/3.30 until 4.15. Details about the clubs will be given by the teacher responsible for the club prior to the first session. |
