Welcome to St Augustine's Catholic Primary SchoolAugustine
The children are the most important part of our school. It is they that bring us together as teachers, parents and governors. We look to encourage each child to be confident and ambitious about themselves and the wider world.

As a Catholic School, Gospel values underpin all that we do. Our children leave the school with the hopes that they can carry these values into the wider world.

We are all very proud of our school and everything that it stands for.
We hope you enjoy visiting our site!

Parent and Toddler Group

Please come and join us at the Tea and Toast for Tots toddler group sessions held every Tuesday afternoon from 1.30pm until 3pm. (Term time only) If you have a child or care for a child under 4 you are more than welcome to join us to have a chat, make new friends and have some fun! The toddler group works closely with the Toy Library, so after some sessions you can even take the toys you have played with home with you! The group can also invite Health visitors, Speech therapists and other agencies to the sessions to give you any support and advice that you may require in informal surroundings. We look foward to meeting you at Tea and Toast for Tots very soon!

We are now running a second Parent and Toddler session on Thursday afternoons from 2.00pm to 3.00pm (term time only), please call in for more information.

Supporters of St Augustines (SOS)

In 2006 we started up a supporters group, open to all parents, staff, family and friends of St Augustine's. We meet and organise Fundraising Events to support our School Fund. With the money raised we enable teaching staff to organise educational visits for classess to enhance their curriculum topics. We also provide parties, entertainers, visitors to school, prizes and presents for all of the children at St Augustines's.

Follow the link on the main menu page for SOS to find out more about our meetings and events throughout the school year.

Family Learning

At St Augustines we are committed to supporting parents as well as children. It is only when we work as a team that we will truly achieve our goals. With the support of Priestly College we are able to offer a continuing programme of family learning courses at school. These practical courses run for six weeks at a time and take place in school during afternoons from 1pm until 3pm. The aim of these courses is to give parents a greater understanding of how young children learn, to share ideas on how to support your child' learning at school, and to develop your own skills in a particular area. The courses focus mainly on reading, writing or mathematical skills, and how these can be developed through fun, practical, creative and craft based activities. For more information on these courses and how you can become involved, please contact Mrs Potts.

Parent

We hold regular coffee mornings for parents and carers every Monday morning between 9.00am and 10.00am in our staff room.

We have developed a bank of resources for parents to borrow: games and toys to play with your children, fiction and non-fiction books around a variety of subjects. These resources are available via the coffee mornings with Mrs Howard.

Please come along and join us for a coffee and a chat.
