Welcome to Weaver Primary School!

We are a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. This web site aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents and pupils.

On behalf of the governors I would like to thank you for showing an interest in the Weaver School.

We are a happy school aiming to give the highest level of service to you and your children so that whatever their ability, they can realise their potential.

We offer a broad curriculum which is delivered by a dedicated and highly competent staff. In addition to all the knowledge, skills and understanding which your child will acquire academically during their time in school, we will also encourage children to become more independent, confident and self-reliant. We encourage physical development through a wide range of sporting activities which form a major part of the school’s life. We attach great importance to the development of social skills and relationships and we want all children to be happy and secure in a caring and stimulating environment.

Reception's Page

Hello. Welcome to Class R's Page!

We are all 4 or 5 years old. This is our first year in school and we have been very busy, learning and having fun. We are following the Foundation Stage Curriculum. During the Autumn Term the topics that we have focused on have been 'Traditional Tales and Nursery Rhymes' and 'Festivals and Celebrations'.

The Spring Term has brought many new and exciting learning opportunities for us. We have a new role play area in our classroom. It is a 'school'. In Mathematical Development we have been doing lots of work on adding. You can see what we have been getting up to in the information below. We have particularly enjoyed celebrating the Chinese New Year where we tried lots of new foods. Yum, yum!

Welcome to Class 1!

We are all 5 and 6 year olds. In the Autumn Term we work on 'Houses and Homes', 'Sounds' and 'Light and Dark'. For our topic on Houses and Homes we set up an estate agents for our role play area. Activities for our Sounds work included going on a listening walk and investigating how sounds are made. Work on Light and Dark involved making shadow puppets and finding out about reflections.

In the Spring Term we work on 'Materials', 'Pushes and Pulls' and 'People Who Help Us'. When looking at materials we made a sculpture out of twigs. We used some fabric to weave in and out of the branches. For our work on People Who Help Us we invited a policeman into school to tell us about his work. Looking at Pushes and Pulls got us designing moving pictures. Our role play area has been set up as a theatre with a box office where we have been busy acting out different stories.

Welcome to our Class Page!

We are all 6 or 7 years old and we work in a Mobile. In the Autumn term we will be finding out about the seaside. We are also doing lots of other exciting activities, we especially like drama and stories this year.

In the Spring term we will be busy with Science work, finding out about how things move and materials. One cold day we all found out about melting ice! On a fine day we ride our bikes or scooters or skates in the school playground to test out starting, stopping and changing direction. We will be sending Roamer across the Hall, writing a program is quite challenging. We are hoping to go into Nantwich and find out about the Fire of Nantwich which started before The Great Fire of London.

In the Summer term we have a residential visit to Llandudno. Everyone gets very excited. We are all going on a visit to our House with all the other members of the House in our school.

Welcome to Year 3!

It is with sadness that we say fairwell to Mrs. Pierce, we all wish her well in the future and hope that she settles quickly into her new home.
Mrs. Geary has now settled into the Weaver School Life and I am sure she will thoroughly enjoy working with class 3.

The Spring term is turning out to be very busy and I can't believe how quickly the first half term has flashed by! Our topics this term include, 'Tudors', 'Rocks and Soils', 'Magnetism and Springs', , Internet Safety and emailing' and 'Databases'. We have taken part in a whole school Numeracy and R.E. Day and the results of this can be seen on display in the hall.

Year 4's Page

Welcome to Year 4!

We have had a very busy and interesting second term so far!

Year 5's Page

Welcome to Year 5!

We are a very busy class working with our new teacher;Mr Reading. The winter term is now well in progress, with new knowledge and skills being learnt every day.

As well as our 'daily dose' of literacy and numeracy,in Science we are learming about the body and will soon move onto our new topic the Earth Sun and Moon. Our use of ICT skills continues with the various ways of handling data, which is proving very useful with the victorian research that we have started.
The winter term is a busy term with lots going on both in class and in the life of the school.

Year 6's Page

Welcome to the Year 6 Page!

Year 6 have been busy this term. We have enjoyed reading a variety of texts - from poetry by Lewis Carrol to fantasy adventure by Philip Pullman in literacy. We had great fun writing a modern adaptation of Shakespeare's Macbeth and interviewing our parents to write biographies.

In numeracy we have been working on 2 dimensinoal shapes - particularly quadrilaterals. We are becoming very speedy at mental calculations and enjoy 'chunking' division problems and using the grids method for multiplication of decimal numbers.

Class 6 have been researching the Aztecs in History with Mrs Waters and designing multimedia programs in ICT lessons with Mrs Daniels.
The class had fun in science designing fair tests to investigate dissolving and separating mixtures.
