Vision Statement forF Marwood Church of England Voluntary Controlled Infant School

At Marwood School we seek to develop caring, responsible pupils, who are self motivated and co-operative. We are committed to delivering a broad balanced curriculum to all our pupils, working in partnership with the local community to provide a happy, encouraging environment where spiritual development is promoted and Christian values upheld.

Parents, Teachers & Friends Association

There is  a  school Parent  Teacher and Friends Association,  which is very active in organising social
and  fund-raising events.  Parents of children at the school are automatically members  of  the PTFA.
The  Annual General Meeting is in September,  when a committee is elected.   Please help us with our
fund raising efforts. The PTFA funds and the School Funds pay for all those extra things that we would
otherwise be unable to afford.
Thanks to the  PTFA  we have additional I.C.T. resources,  two drinking fountains,   Early Years and
Playground equipment, additional musical instruments, the ongoing Millennium  Garden project, a bike
rack, and educational visitors to work with the children and educational trips out of school.

Transfer of Pupils

At the end of Key Stage 1, the children (aged 7 years) transfer to a Junior School of parental choice.
A Common Application Form is sent to all Year 2 pupils to enable parents to apply to the Local
Authority for a place in the school of their choice.  A  visit is arranged for pupils to the appropriate
school at the end of the Summer Term.
At the end of Key Stage 2 (11+ years), pupils  usually transfer to, Stokesley Comprehensive School
though  this is entirely up  to parental choice.   More  information  can  be obtained from School,
Stokesley Comprehensive School or the local authority at County Hall, Northallerton.
