Welcome to St. Patrick's R.C. Primary School.

St. Patrick's R.C. Primary School has been established to serve the parish of St. Patrick's, Fairfield, Stockton. The Governors are the admitting authority and their aim is provide a Catholic education for every baptised Catholic child living within the catchment of the parish. We currently have 261 children on the roll. We also have a 26 place nursery with sessions both morning and afternoon.

MISSON STATEMENT

When parents bring children to St Patrick's it is the beginning of a partnership in their education. This Home School agreement attempts to encapsulate in words the school's aims and values and to set down the mutual responsibilities of parents and teachers and our expectations of children.

It should be an agreement which can readily be signed by both parents and underpin our resolve to provide the very best for our pupils.

The Mission Statement of the School is:

St. Patrick's RC Primary School seeks to provide the best in education for its pupils as enshrined in the mission statement (as below).

The School Motto, 'May Christ be seen in us', summarises the intent behind our work here at St. Patrick's. When we are open to Christ we move towards achieving full potential in all things. With this in mind we seek to:

provide opportunities (to allow for) prayer, worship and liturgy to become meaningful, pivotal and valued aspects of our lives in faith

to develop the partnerships among the Home, School, Parish and Community to support and enrich the work of both pupils and staff.

provide opportunities, a quality curriculum and a sound delivery of programmes of study through which knowledge, skills and understanding will equip our pupils for the responsibilities and experiences of life now and in time to come

promote a climate of justice, care, honesty, diligence, respect, tolerance and forgiveness so that children and staff can relate with each other with confidence and to good purpose.

EDUCATION FOR LIFE

At St. Patrick's the Governors wish there to be effective co-operation between parents and teachers so that in experiencing the Catholic Ethos of the School and by their progress through well planned programmes of work, our children may grow as people in their understanding, in their faith, begin to develop an appreciation for the religious/spiritual dimension of life; what it is to be a Christian; what it is to be a Catholic and what it is to be a religiously committed person in today's world.

SOCIAL

The Children should gain in confidence, self discipline, good manners, good behaviour and generosity of spirit so that they become better members of society.

LANGUAGE

The Children should listen attentively, read with fluency and understanding, write legibly having a good standard of spelling, grammar, punctuation and usage, speak sensibly and confidently and be able to use these skills to communicate with others.

SCIENCE

The Children should have some knowledge of the Natural World as well as to understand some basic scientific principles, to observe, interpret evidence, investigate possible solutions, to record and analyse results.

TECHNOLOGY

The Children should use a variety of strategies and materials to solve problems and fulfil needs and to recognise some technological aspects of modern life. They should use Information Technology in a variety of ways to help learning, to explore situations, to store and retrieve Data and produce work.
