Welcome to Andrews Memorial P.S.
At Andrews Memorial we believe that the years a child spends at primary school should be enjoyed and treasured in their own right as well as laying the foundation for all other stages of formal education.
We feel that there must be active communication between home and school. This communication , as well as being mutually beneficial, will help to produce happy, secure children, socially well-adjusted and proud of their own achievements.

We aim to provide for our pupils a programme of activities embracing the Northern Ireland Common Curriculum, which will enable each pupil to attain his / her full potential - intellectually, socially, aesthetically, physically and morally in a happy and caring environment.
Skills, values and attitudes are acquired both at home and in school. Teachers and parents have a joint responsibility to work together for the benefit of our children and it is with these fundamental principles in mind that we welcome children to our school.

In 1914 the Andrews Memorial Hall was built in memory of Thomas Andrews Jnr, the Chief Designer of the Titanic. For many years the Hall provided a social centre for the people of Comber until, in the early 1970's, it became the focal point for a new primary school. Today the pupils continue to be proud of Thomas Andrews' achievements and their town's links with the great ship. |
