The original Catchgate Primary School was closed on 19th October 2001. A new Primary School to serve the village of Catchgate in County Durham, England, has been built and the old school has been demolished. The new building holds 312 primary children, ages ranging from nursery to y6.
On Tuesday June 18th 2002, Brian Wilson, Minister of State for Energy and Construction officially opened our new £2.1 million building. Many visitors attended the opening ceremony including representatives from Durham County Council, Durham L.E.A., Northumbrian Water, AEI cables, Thorn Lighting, Millers Construction and NPower.
