Dodmire Junior School is for children from 7 to 11 years of age. There are at present 261 children in the school divided into 9 classes, each cared for by a teacher who also makes a special contribution to the school as a whole. The children are allocated to these classes on the basis of age. One Year 5/Year 6 class is made up of mixed age groups.
|
We have had the opportunity to have two new classrooms built and to make great changes in the way we use the space in our school. This has given us the chance to create a special presentation room. We have also had a Children's Centre added to the school and recent work to provide disabled access has been completed. |

The school aims to promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, aesthetic, social, intellectual and physical development in each child in a manner that is challenging and enjoyable and in an environment that is both stimulating and caring.
We aim to provide a school in which children can develop self-respect, respect for others and respect for their surroundings. We encourage them to co-operate with both adults and children and to become sympathetic to the needs of others.
