Our Aims

To create a safe, secure, happy, stimulating, well disciplined, purposeful environment where children can feel motivated and can help develop as independent, enquiring learners.

To value each child and to encourage every child to respect and to value themselves and others in the community, forming positive attitudes and developing a sense of right and wrong, good behaviour, consideration for others and care of the environment.

To build upon the experiences of children at home and in pre-school education, helping children to acquire knowledge, skills and concepts relevant to their life now and in the future.

To provide children with ample opportunity for a rich variety of learning experiences, enabling children to develop the powers of imagination, creativity and self-expression

School Council

“A School Council" is an ideal opportunity for pupils to get more involved in the way a school is run. They are made up in a number of different ways but usually have representatives from each class or year group, who have to be voted in by other pupils. It is the responsibility of each councilor to ensure that they express both their own views and the views of all the other pupils they represent.

A School Council will benefit the whole school, pupils and teachers. It will provide opportunities for pupils to communicate their feelings to teachers and staff as well as influence decisions that are made.

A School Council will give pupils the opportunity to develop skills such as confidence, communication and negotiation.

A School Council is an opportunity for you to make that change!”

What happens in a School Council Meeting!

We have our council meetings mainly once a week during our lunchtime break. Each council member has a blue book with a pen. Mr. Stephenson gives us issues to write down in them and when we have our class meetings we discuss the issues raised and collect ideas, recording them in our blue books, ready to feed back the suggestions to the council members in our next meeting.
