Dromara Primary School is a controlled school, set in the village of Dromara which lies in the heart of County Down near Slieve Croob. The river Lagan rises on the nearby slopes and passes through the village and close to the school on its way to Belfast and the Irish Sea. The school is well appointed and provides adequate grass and tarmac areas for games and play. The fabric of the building both inside and out is well maintained. All classrooms are provided with their own library areas and computers. A library / resource room is also provided for the use of senior pupils. Pupils learn and perform best when they are happy and it is the aim of this school to create a friendly and stimulating atmosphere where each and every child is of the greatest importance and where the success of the school is built upon co-operation among parents, staff and pupils.
