Morley Hall Preparatory School
Hill House, Derby,DE21 4QZ Morley Road, Chaddesden

Dear Parents,

Morley Hall Preparatory School is a large Victorian house reflecting tradition and charm. Set amongst open fields and next to “Hill Farm” it has a truly beautiful and rural location.

This tranquility represents a perfect setting for learning within a purposeful, disciplined and friendly atmosphere.

The Teachers and Directors of Morley Hall are all dedicated to our purpose. Small numbers in the classrooms are vital to ensure that our pupils develop to their full potential.

Our last Ofsted Inspection (December 2003) confirmed that our pupils are educated to a standard far higher than the requirements of the National Curriculum.

We recognise the need for a special bond between Parents and teachers working towards a happy balanced and secure child, educated to go forward and take their place in today’s world with confidence.

We look forward to meeting you.

Yours sincerely

Our aim is to achieve academic excellence within a happy and secure atmosphere. Small enough to care about the ability, potential and happiness of each child attending; wise enough to know, as fellow parents, that you wish to be included, advised and at times reassured in your child’s future within the school.

At Morley Hall, Pupils are taught in small classes to the highest academic levels by traditional teaching methods, which encompass modern technology.

We follow the National Curriculum as a guide but we do feel that with the right tuition, our children are capable of a higher standard. French is taught from four years old.

We have general subject based classrooms and swimming, sports, music, and library facilities are part of the curriculum. Children are introduced to computers at six years old. This incorporates individual computer studies and each child receives a minimum of 1 hour per week of personal tuition in this area. Children of 7+ entering the junior class have a computer-integrated curriculum.

Attention is paid throughout the school to grammar, punctuation, spelling and presentation.
