‘Bovington Middle School is fast becoming a successful school’. This was the opening sentence of a Local Authority Review carried out in November 2005. Certainly this is the case with our results of last year. Bovington Middle was recognised as the school that had achieved the most improved results at Key Stage 2 across the whole of Dorset. Information from KS3 testing indicates significant progress in Maths and Science by our pupils.

We are proud of our achievements to the extent that our school logo, BMS, can now be interpreted as Bovington Means Success!

Children learn best in a happy environment and effective partnership with includes parents, teachers, governors and all other school staff. We are good at caring for pupils which has been recognised in successive reports from Ofsted, HMI and the LEA.

We are continuing a programme of decoration and modernisation to the fabric of the building.  Recent improvements have been made to the disabled access and facilities throughout the school.  Investment in ICT remains a priority; we now have 2 computer suites available and a number of classrooms with interactive while boards. Plans for the immediate future include the creation of a second science laboratory for KS2 pupils and a computer control technology room sited with are Design and Technology areas.

The School Prospectus gives much information about our school however if you need to find out more, please call and the office staff would be glad to help with your enquiry.

We believe that the partnership between home and school plays a crucial part in the education of the children in our care. We encourage parents to take a full part in the life of the school.

We ask you to support our aims by ensuring that children are not tired when they arrive at school. We would like you to encourage the children by talking to them about their work and homework.

We aim to provide:

a caring and friendly community in which mutual respect is fostered

a safe environment for children to develop in confidence and self-esteem

a place of learning enabling children to develop and achieve their full potential

equal opportunities for children to take part in extra curricular activities and community projects

We endeavour to ensure all personnel at Bovington Middle School are trained to provide a highly skilled and professional service to nurture and establish your child's education development and success

Contained within the pages of our Home School Link Book is an agreement that we ask children and parents to sign, endorsing our aims. Also to be found in this book is guidance upon aspects of our school’s organization and advice to pupils on expected conduct.
