Classes
Our classes: -
- Earth
- Mars
- Jupiter
- Saturn
- Neptune
In Earth we have been learning about people who help us. We interviewed people in our school and we went to the Lyme Regis medical centre. The policeman, the fireman and the coastguard came to talk to us about their jobs.
Things we have done
In Mars Class we went for a lovely walk in science and looked at plants and animals. We learned all about Guy Fawkes. We are also making circuits.
Autumn Term - India
In Jupiter this term we have been learning about India. We have studied mountains in Geography and Literacy. After finding lots of facts, we wrote some non-chronological reports.
In our Harvest presentation we thought about what mountains represent
Autumn Term - Art: Impressionism
This term we have been investigating impressionism in our art lessons.
We looked at the different techniques that impressionist painters use to create their paintings. We experimented with some of our own and produced landscapes from the techniques that we explored. We also used ICT to create pictures from a photograph using Dazzle
Autumn Term - India
In Neptune we have been thinking about organisations that help people in India. We found out about the geographical features of India and some of the difficulties people face in poor areas. In art we looked at Madhubani paintings and compared them with traditional landscapes. In the ICT suite we made Rangoli patterns using the symmetry tool in Dazzle. Our Harvest Service this year made us think about what we can do to help people less fortunate than ourselves. |
