Welcome to St Peter's School
'High Quality Education in a mixed Catholic Comprehensive School for pupils aged between 11 and 19 years'
St Peter's is a Christian Community enabling pupils to develop fully their own individuality and to reach the highest possible standards for their ability. The School is run under the joint trusteeship of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portsmouth and a religious order of teachers, the De La Salle Brothers. Our Head teacher is Mr. A. McCaffrey MA.
St Peter's School consists of two sites, both in Bournemouth. The Upper School in St Catherine's Road and the Lower School in Holdenhurst Avenue. Each site has a full set of facilities and extensive playing fields. In September 2005 there were approximately 1550 pupils on the roll, including 350 in the Sixth Form.
At St Peter's we follow the National Curriculum to Key Stage 3 and 4 with a wide range of subjects offered at GCSE, 'A' Level, GNVQ and BTEC. There are opportunities throughout a pupil's school life to be involved in a variety of activities which include debating, public speaking, charity work, community service, field work, foreign exchange visits and other educational trips to Spain, Germany, France and Italy. Drama, music, art and sport all play a vital part in school life and our enviable theatre plays host to a wide variety of productions and events. |
