Information for parents
At William Barnes School we acknowledge the vital part that parents have already played in their childs education even before they come to School.
We wish to recognise parents' expertise and we see education as a shared experience between teacher, parent and child.
These pages are intended to provide parents with all the information they might need in order to become fully involved in their children's education.
Extra-curricular activities are considered to be an important part of the children's educational experience and the school offers a considerable number and variety of these activities. They take place during the lunch break and after school. The activities offered depend on the teachers' willingness to give of their free time and on their particular interests and expertise. We are very fortunate that we are able to offer the following, although the programme does change from term to term:
- Computers for Girls
- Cross Country Running
- Green team
- Public Speaking
- Short tennis
Parents are welcome to help with these activities and they occasionally lead a club, supported by a teacher.
