Schools must have Governing Bodies; an Act of Parliament establishes this. There are various rules, which say how the Governing Body is to be made up in terms of numbers and types of governors. As we are a Church of England Voluntary Aided School, Foundation Governors must be appointed to represent the Church. We must also have Parent Governors (parents may be foundation governors). It is important that parents are well represented. We also have two Teacher Governors and one LEA Governor.
The Governing Body have various responsibilities including ensuring the Curriculum, other educational guidelines and religious education are followed and taught.
Governors make visits to the school in connection with their various roles. If you have any queries for the Governing Body please contact the school and we will endeavour to answer them.
