Our school is located in the village of Witchampton in the Cranborne Chase. It is a small, friendly school that provides a happy, caring and creative learning environment for children aged 4 to 9 years of age.

Whilst our school is physically small, we have great ambitions to grow as life long learners and to be part of a world-wide community. Everyone is encouraged to develop and share all their talents—whether they are pupils, members of staff or part of our community of families and friends.

Our role as a Church School is important to us. Everyone in the school is valued and respected and encouraged to have the same respect for themselves, others and the wonderful world we have been given to live in and care for.

Witchampton CE VA First School is a Church of England School providing education for children between the ages of 4+ and 9 years.

The school was founded in 1855 and the original schoolroom still forms the main part of the building. Major alterations took place in the 1960's and small extensions have been added since.

The 1944 Education Act granted the school Aided status which enables it to remain faithful to its original Church of England foundation, taking into account changing circumstances.

A majority of the Governors represent the Church. Aided status allows the Governors to appoint the staff (their educational qualifications being subject to the approval of the LEA) and therefore ensures that all staff support the ethos of a church school.

To help the children develop personal and moral values and show respect for other people and their way of life and the wonderful world we have been given.

To help the children to develop the experiences, knowledge, skills and understandings to live life to the full both now as children and in the future as valuable members of their communities.
