Mr Bernard Knowles

Dear Parents,

Thank you for taking the time to log on to the school's website. We wish to continue developing the site and what it has to offer. If there any further aspects of school life you would like to see, just email your suggestion to

We are now in our fourth year since the reorganisation of town centre schools in Wrexham. A considerable amount of remodelling and refurbishment work has been completed on the our site. We are able to offer excellent opportunities for students to achieve success. ICT facilities are particularly good including availability of digital projectors and interactive whiteboards.  Opportunities for participation in sport are excellent and we benefit from a wide range of modern facilities including a swimming pool and an all-weather pitch.

Our school has a lively Music Department. In addition to a broad classroom curriculum a wide range of extra – curricular activity takes place: -
Senior Wind Band, Junior Wind Band, Orchestra, Senior Choir, Junior Choir, Saxophone Ensemble, Rock School and Music / Drama Club.
The School music groups are in great demand in the local area, and the senior band and choir have performed solo at the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Millennium Dome in London, at St David’s Hall, Cardiff, Symphony Hall, Birmingham and the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester.

At Rhosnesni we are striving to achieve excellence in the work we do by:

  • Developing a successful learning culture based on high expectations;

  • Providing effective learning and teaching with motivated and well-trained staff;

  • Encouraging and promoting mutual respect by all and pride in the school;

I believe in aiming for excellence in everything we do as we develop opportunities for all our pupils to succeed and make a real difference to their future life chances.  I see the partnership with a whole range of key people; pupils, staff, parents, primary schools, colleges and other groups in the community, playing a vital role as we move forward together.

I am proud to be leading Rhosnesni High School into the future with a dedicated team of professionals helping to equip your sons and daughters for their roles and responsibilities in an ever demanding and increasingly changing world. If you have not toured the school recently, we would urge you to contact the school office and arrange a visit. We would like to tell you more about Rhosnesni and would be delighted to meet you to discuss any aspect of school life.
