Welcome to our School

“Pupils make good progress and reach standards that are above average for their age. Their outstanding personal development and well-being is reflected in their enthusiastic enjoyment of school life and their exceptionally good rates of attendance.” (Ofsted 2006)

At Bredon Hill we value: honesty, integrity, diligence and learning as a lifelong experience. We believe in ‘stretching’ students in every activity that they undertake and that they perform best when they are educated in a safe environment. Our staff care about Bredon Hill pupils and take time to listen to their views. The school has an ethos of personal achievement, responsibility and leadership and mutual respect for all members of our community. We celebrate the many talents and skills that each and every student brings to our school through a variety of rewards and praise.

We recognise that every individual is different and that “every child really does matter.” A good education is each child’s entitlement. We see the need to provide all students with opportunities to develop their individual character and believe that a strong and supportive partnership with parents is crucial to pupils’ happiness and success. This is achieved through regular communication about progress and an excellent pastoral care system.

The academic standards of the school are very high and superb extra-curricular opportunities in Music, the Arts and Sports complement learning during the school day. As an International School many cultural, historical and educational visits allow our young people and staff to widen their horizons and enrich their lives. High standards of behaviour, uniform and discipline are vital for effective learning and pupil self-esteem. Pupils are aware of their rights and responsibilities. Bredon Hill has a number of unique factors in its favour. It is a delightful place to teach and has, most importantly, dedicated, well qualified specialist staff and ambitious, talented and hardworking students educated today for the challenges of tomorrow.

We are an open and welcoming school with an enormous amount to offer. I hope that you will share our ambition for your child to experience an excellent and enjoyable education and we would welcome any prospective parents and pupils observing us in action.

If you wish to arrange a visit, please contact the school office (01386 881426) or

Aims of the School

The learning community of Bredon Hill Middle School shares a commitment to supporting the needs of our pupils. We wish to include every individual regardless of age, gender, ability or creed. We hold in our hearts the belief that everyone has the potential to improve in personal and academic terms and that we all have a contribution to make to the wider community. With this purpose in mind the school seeks to promote.

  • Self-belief and a sense of personal worth.
  • Self-reflection and pursuit of personal excellence.
  • An enjoyment and enthusiasm for learning within a secure and safe environment.
  • A respect for others and the surrounding environment.
  • A growing awareness of the community and society at large.
  • Personal development through the delivery of a rich and varied curriculum which creates opportunities for academic, social, physical and spiritual awareness.

As a team we will provide a stimulating, friendly, supportive and secure environment where a clear sense of self-responsibility, community membership and positive moral values are promoted. Our aim is to encourage staff, parents and governors a like, to become active partners in releasing the talents of our pupils.
