The Dyson Perrins C E High School is a co-educational comprehensive school. It has approximately 940 students on role, aged from 11-18.
The school has a deserved reputation for friendliness and good relationships. The most recent OfSTED report in March 2006 made the following comments:-
“students spoke highly of their good working relationships with teachers.”
“students enjoy their time at school and generally make the progress expected.”
“The pleasant and cheerful attitude and good behaviour of students reflects their good moral, social and cultural development.”
A substantial grant from the DfEE has enabled a new Sixth Form block and Performing Arts facility to be built as well as allowing for the refurbishment of Science labs and Mathematics classrooms. These new facilities opened in September 2003.
In January 2007, Sport Dyson Perrins was completed. This is a new sports centre with dual use, ie; our school has use during the day until 6.00pm and the community has use after 6.00pm and on weekends. This facility includes a state of the art fitness suite.
We are applying for Sport College Status in October 2007 and hope to be designated as such in February/March 2008.
We aim to be an outstanding school.
