King’s Hawford is a long-established Independent School for boys and girls between the ages of 2+ to 11. The school is housed in a beautiful Georgian house and stands in 35 acres of parkland and playing fields. We are conveniently located on the A449 to the north of Worcester.
King’s Hawford is very much a family school - something that will become apparent when you visit. With a focus on small classes, excellent facilities, a broad curriculum and great teachers, we aim to give each boy or girl the very best possible start to their school life within a happy and secure environment.
I hope that you enjoy our website and that you will want to experience King’s Hawford at first hand. The next step is to send for a prospectus and to arrange a tour of the school when we shall have the opportunity of meeting: simply contact the school on 01905 451292. |
We believe that happiness is essential to effective learning and development and that children should grow to love learning and school. Play is central to our approach with Early Years children and our facilities allow for a wide range of physical and creative play. Our Kindergarten has a courtyard with ride-on toys and there is a large adventure playground for the children to explore. Inside there is sand and water, a two floor play house, dressing-up area, construction and painting areas.
Reception at King’s Hawford is full time. A little more formal learning is introduced when the child is ready, but play still forms an important part of the day.
Children can be supervised at school from 8am until 5:50pm, with the school day running from 8:30am until 3:30pm.
In the Pre-Prep, our experienced class teachers provide a caring and supportive environment where pupils feel valued, happy and optimistic. Parents are kept closely informed about their children’s happiness and are able to make daily contact with the class teacher. There is a Head of Pre-Prep who is available to parents should the need arise.
Junior School children are expected to show respect and tolerance at all times and this is central to our ethos, being reinforced by our system of rewards. The Form Tutor is at the heart of our pastoral care system and is always available to pupils and parents alike. The Deputy Head oversees these arrangements and can offer greater support if necessary. Senior pupils help younger pupils in the playground and also undertake additional responsibilities around the school. In this way we introduce pupils to the idea of serving a community.
