Welcome

From the Headmaster

Welcome to our new website. I hope that you find it useful, whether you are a prospective pupil or parent, or if you already have a connection with RGSAO.

RGSAO was formed by the merger of The Royal Grammar School, Worcester and The Alice Ottley School on 1st September 2007. RGS has been at the heart of Worcester for more than seven hundred years, and AO has had a national reputation for excellence since its foundation in 1883.

Today, we are a thriving, independent, co-educational school, with high academic standards and a wide range of sporting, cultural and outward bound opportunities. Our educational facilities are among the best in the Midlands. We take great pride in our pastoral care system and the quality of the relationships between pupils and staff. Our pupils are from a variety of backgrounds and, as well as our Junior Schools, Springfield and RGS The Grange, children come to us at the age of eleven from a large number of maintained primary schools and independent preparatory schools across Worcestershire and beyond.

Do come along to one of our Open Mornings, and I would also be delighted to meet you on an ordinary working day if you wish. Please telephone the Registrar, Mrs Linda Preece on 01905 613391 to arrange a visit.

The Grange

From the Headmaster

Welcome to the website of RGS The Grange where you will find essential information about our school - what we do and how we do it.

RGS The Grange is, however, impossible to describe in just pictures and words. If you are looking for an exciting, stimulating junior school for your son or daughter that offers great sporting and extra-curricular activities, please do come to visit us. I will be delighted to show you round personally, introduce you to some of our staff and pupils, and let you see for yourself what a wonderful school we have. I am confident that you will be impressed.

Springfield

From the Headmistress

From the Headmistress

I am delighted to welcome you to Springfield, a Junior School of the newly merged RGS Worcester and The Alice Ottley School.

Springfield is a well-established school for children from 2 ½ to 11 years of age which is now entering an exciting new phase of its development. From September 2007 we are pleased to offer our warm, friendly and supportive environment to boys as well as girls.

Our aim is to establish a strong foundation for the children’s future schooling and we work closely with parents to ensure their child’s individual needs are identified and met. We take pride in providing exceptional pastoral care which is recognised as one of the school’s distinctive strengths.

For day-to-day purposes we are independent of the Senior School but our close proximity gives us access to excellent support and facilities. As the children move through our school they will be taught by specialist teachers at the Senior School which we know helps with the smooth transition to Year Seven and beyond.

I would be delighted to meet with you and show you around our school set in the heart of Worcester’s finest Georgian square. Our beautiful grounds and magnificent buildings provide inspiration for pupils and staff alike.
