In this section of the website you will find all the practical information about contacting and visiting the school, entrance procedures, dates and other details.
One of the best ways to find out about our school is to visit us during one of our
Open Mornings. This will give you an ideal opportunity to see how we work and play together as a school. It will also provide you with the chance to see how beautiful a school King’s is, with its fine buildings, attractive gardens, lawns and playgrounds, as well as its views across the playing fields to the Malvern Hills.
Of course, you may want to see King’s on an ordinary working day, which we will be happy to arrange with you.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
Entrance to King's at 11+
There are up to 50 places for external candidates at 11+. All candidates take papers in English, Mathematics and Verbal Reasoning and have a short interview.
Entrance to King's at 13+
Places available at 13+ vary from year to year depending on the size of our Year 8 group. We would advise parents to check the position in any one year. All candidates take papers in English, Mathematics and Verbal Reasoning and have an interview.
There may also be places available at 12+ and 14+.
Sixth Form entry
There is a specially designed test geared to the age group, which contains elements of English, Mathematics and spatial relationships. On the basis of this test, interviews, predicted GCSE grades and reports from the candidates' present schools, offers are made which are conditional on a satisfactory performance at GCSE. To qualify for entry to the Sixth Form the normal requirement for external candidates is six passes at least at B grade and a further two passes at C grade at GCSE. English language and mathematics must be passed at C grade or higher. Grade B or higher should be achieved in any subject that is to be taken at AS level if these subjects have been taken at GCSE.
Academic and Music Scholarships are available at 11+, 13+ and 16+.
