Whitbourne C E Primary School
Whitbourne, WR6 5SP Worcester

www:http://www.whitbourne.ik.org/e-mail:

Our school is situated at the heart of Whitbourne village, which itself is situated on the Hereford / Worcester county border, on the A44 5 miles East of Bromyard, and 12 miles west of Worcester. The Head Teacher is Mr Andy Ellis. You can contact us by ringing 01886 821266 or by e-mailing admin@whitbourne.hereford.sch.uk

One of the striking features of our school is the warm and friendly atmosphere that greets you. The strength of community and sense of caring emanates from parents, children, staff and governors. This warmth allows children to feel secure and so enjoy coming to school and learning.

Our Aims

We believe that self-esteem is the single most important factor contributing towards a young person's success. With no self-respect a person can have no respect for others or for the community within which they live. Self-esteem nurtures pride in work and appearance and helps to develop a sense of determination.

We are a small school that creates a secure family atmosphere with a spirit of caring and being cared for. Every child is an individual whose abilities are developed, encouraged and valued accordingly. This is a happy place where all can contribute to every aspect of school life and the life of its wider community.

Children develop their skills and attitudes, challenged to a level appropriate to their ability, within a curriculum that is broad and stimulating. We believe that it is important to give children the opportunity for regular moments of quiet so that they can reflect upon the world, themselves and how they believe they fit into it.

We encourage full support and communication with parents as we know that without this our educational aims will founder.

We would hope that when our children leave Whitbourne Primary School, they will be equipped to successfully meet the challenges that lie ahead.

Class Organisation

We currently have 63 children in the school, organised into 3 classes.

Class 1 comprises of the Foundation Stage, Years 1 and 2. Mrs Boffy & Mrs Hawthorne are the class teachers and are supported by Miss Davies (Early Years Practitioner) and Mrs Bates (Class Assistant).

Class 2 is for children ages 7-9 years and is taught by Miss Mullard with Mrs Neathway and Mrs Baker(Class Assistants).

Class 3 is for children aged 9-11 years and is taught by the Head Teacher, Mr Ellis, Mrs Hastings, and supported by Mrs Townsend (Class Assistant).
