A New School for Rowde?

Within two years the children of Rowde could be going to a marvellous new school. The Governors have spent several months designing the new school with developers ‘Persimmon’ and architects ‘Stride Trethglowen’ and the result is a fantastic building with many improvements on our present site. The final hurdle to be overcome is gaining Planning Permissions for both the new school and for housing development on the present school site—which is fully funding the whole project.

Rowde RASCALS After School Club is run by the school for the benefit of children whose parents have work commitments and need their child to be looked after for a period before or after school. All children have to be registered with the club before they are able to attend. Forms are available from the school office.

The club is housed in a mobile on the school site and has three playleaders caring for the children at all times. The maximum number of children we can look after is 24.

RASCALS is open each school day (including TD Days) from 8-9am and from 3-5pm (5.30pm by

arrangement) If there is sufficient demand the club can also open at half term and during other holidays. The cost is currently £2 per hour and parents are billed at the end of each month for the time their children spend at the club.

RASCALS is not a ‘Homework Club’. It is an alternative to being at home and children are given a breakfast (am) or a snack meal eg.Beans onToast (pm). We have television, computer, games

machine, books and a variety of other activities that the children can choose to take part in during their time at the club.
